The Milkhouse will become a cozy guest cottage
that will sleep 2 (or a family of 4). It is awaiting renovation planned for ????
It was another
donation from our neighbor Jean McElheney. It was a working milkhouse on her family's dairy and grain farm. She needed
to move it or tear it down to make way for a new Morton building. We happily took the building off her hands!
See the story behind it below.
THE MILKHOUSE STORY
Pulled Off
The Milkhouse is
pulled off its foundation and former home with our neighbor Allan Sieck's BIG white truck.
Leaving Home
Off its foundation, the Milkhouse is successfully on its way to its new
home at Farmhouse Life.
Slow Moving
The "slow moving" sign on the back of the building is almost
a joke. As he followed the move, Kevin couldn't keep up in his Farmall C tractor!
Tight Turn
The turn by our home's 1000 gallon gas tank was a bit too close
for my liking, but both Allan and Kevin had no doubts that the building would make the tight turn safely.
Just Waiting
The Milkhouse now waits near our south pasture. We're still
formulating plans for its remake into a cozy guest cottage for two ...
