I passed this little shed daily and loved how the rusty red roof stood up to the bright blue hues of the hot summer sky.  I started taking note of how the corn rows were slowly reaching the height of the roof, soon overtaking it completely.  The shed is now gone.

This was taken on a late afternoon on a crisp, cool beautiful Autumn day.  The field grasses took on a reddish tint as the sun was setting.  I imagine that this is probably the prairie view my great grandfather from Ireland enjoyed when he first settled in this area - not too far from this very field which is south of the little town of Cooper Iowa.

This is my husband's bike shop - before it became the version of its self today.  Much to my dismay, he used Christmas lights that were meant for our pine tree in the front yard!  The lights gave the shop a fairytale-like glow at night ... I could almost envision elves working there.

A neighbor from Dawson (the town just south of us), shines up and parks his vintage tractors outside his home on certain holidays. This was taken on a July 4th weekend.  Its always a special treat to drive by and see his "lineup."

This red-top water tower in Dawson (the town just south of us) looks like it's enveloped in a "Wizard of Oz" type storm, so I named it "The Tin Man."

I just love Autumn in Iowa!  This was taken on a crisp, cool beautiful Autumn day.  It's the bend of the Des Moines River behind my sister-in-law's home in Des Moines Iowa.  I loved how the warmth of the bright orange and rust-colored leaves played against the cool blues of the sky and water.  Autumn in Iowa is always glorious!

This was taken outside the back door of my sister-in-law's home in Denison Iowa - just as a storm was approaching.  I enjoy mentally comparing the the gentle dip of the hills on their ranch land to the flat fields that surround our home.  Whenever I see this scene, I envision little trolls hiding in the hills nearby!
